How to tell if your torsion Springs were installed correctly?
When your Garage Door Springs have been istalled and the job is done so a small little test to make sure they have been installed properly.
1. First you want to take the door manually by dis-engaging it from the opener, close it 80% and then let go and see if it stays in that same position. If it does go the next step.
2. Second take the door to 50% open and do the same and see if the door stays in the same position.
3. Third Step and final test take the door at 80% open and let go, if it stays the torsion springs have been installed properly and have been calibrated correctly.
If you perform this test and the door does not stay in those positions and the door tries to open or close and hit the ground hard, bring it to the technicians attention because the springs have not been installed correctly and he needs to do this again or else you might end up with another inconvenient time with another broken spring.
